Hi! I’m Valerie. I teach crochet and knitting. I believe that the best way to acquire new knowledge is through hands-on experience. My role in the classroom is to create the  conditions for students to learn.  As an internationally published designer, my debut pattern, Valley Vista, can be found in Knitty, the first free and online fiber art magazine. Currently, I am part of the team organizing Yarncentrick, an annual pop-up fiber festival in Maryland.  I am formally trained as an instructor and hold a Bachelor of Science in Fashion  Merchandising from Old Dominion University.  When I’m not engrossed in a work in progress (WIP), I enjoy living in New Mexico, the Land of Enchantment
