Class Description:
Experience the art of Tunisian Crochet, also known as Afghan Crochet or Tunisian Knit Stitch. This is an inclusive class for both knitters AND crocheters because Tunisian Crochet combines a long crochet hook with knitting actions. You’ll learn the basic techniques, stitches, and tools required to make beautiful Tunisian Crochet projects.
During class get hands-on practice with a beginner-friendly project. You’ll learn the Tunisian Simple Stitch for a make-and-take class project. We’ll cover the history, origins, and characteristics of Tunisian Crochet fabric so you can confidently try your next Tunisian Crochet project.
By the end of the class, you’ll have a solid understanding of Tunisian Crochet and feel confident to explore more complex patterns and projects on your own!
Optional Class Project Kit available for purchase from the instructor.

Registration necessary, class size limited 25
Supplies Needed: Students will need to bring:
- Yarn. Suggested, 4 Medium Weight Yarn
- Tunisian Crochet Hook- suggested, US H-8 (5mm) hook. Many Tunisian Hook varieties and all will work for class. Look for a long hook. Some styles have a cord with a stopper, or a hook on both ends.
- Notions bag, tapestry needle, removeable stitch markers and scissors
- Notetaking tools. Pencil and paper for notes.
Materials Fee: (payable to teacher) Optional class project kit available for purchase from the instructor
Homework: None required.
