Class Description:
Learn more techniques (after completing Intro to Celtic Knot Crochet) for combining decorative knots with your crochet projects and try your hand at weaving an intricate knot. See a variety of completed Celtic Knot projects for inspiration. Students will make a square motif with a beautiful Celtic Knot at its center that can be used to make a bag embellishment, journal cover or throw. Students will receive handouts complete with tips, techniques, motif pattern and knot diagrams.
Level: ALL LEVELS
Registration necessary, class size limited 25
Supplies Needed: Students will need to bring:
- 2 skeins Size 3 (DK weight) yarn (Sinfonia by Omega, I love this Cotton by Hobby Lobby, LionBrand 24/7 Cotton) – in 2 contrasting colors
- Size F/3.75mm crochet hook
- Styrofoam block or corkboard at least 8″ x 8″
- 30 sewing straight pins
- Yarn Needle
Materials Fee: (payable to teacher): $4.00 (for other craft supplies provided by Instructor to complete project and paper handouts)
Homework: With medium weight yarn of your choice and size F/3.75mm hook, ch 203
Working in the back bar of the chain, sc in the 2nd chain from hook and in each ch across
This cord will be what the Celtic Knot is made of so choose the color you would like at the center of your motif.
