THE WESTIN CONVENTION CENTER HOTEL DOWNTOWN PITTSBURGH

The boxes are beginning to arrive full of gifts and giveaways from our Sponsors for the Festival just 22 days away.

We are excited and pleased to announce the inclusion of gifts to the following classes from our sponsors:

• Schachenmayr is supporting all of Charles Gandy’s classes and is graciously providing a skein of Regia yarn for each student in:   Embellished Knitting with Charles Gandy, Designing with Embellished Knitting with Charles Gandy, Great Ganseys with Charles Gandy and Arans Anyone? with Charles Gandy.
• Each person taking a Taste of LACE with Colleen Macguire-Haught will receive a skein of Claudia Handpainted lace weight yarn. (see above)
• The students in Learn to Spin on your own Wheel with Amy Francisco and Spinner’s Fiber Tasting Party with Melissa Yoder Ricks will be able to divide a bag of Louet’s 100% Wool Top  pencil roving to use in class (Icy Winter and Rainbow,see below ).

The Yarn Tasting Party will be a whole lotta’ fun….like a kid in a candy store! What better way to spend your Friday evening than “tasting” a variety of yarns, needles, hooks and other accessories from our Sponsors and some of our exhibitors who dye their own yarns. There will be fiber, wheels and drop spindles for those who would like to try their hand at spinning… and did we mention a chocolate fountain?

The list for the Yarn Tasting includes: Artisanal Yarns, Bryson Distributing, Debbie Bliss, Fairy Tale Knits, Holiday Yarns, Kraemer Yarns, Lion Brand Exclusive LB® Collection, Louet, Mirasol,Rowan, Schachenmayr, Susan’s Fiber Shop and Tahki Stacy Charles. Debbie Bliss and Mirasol yarns graciously provided by Knitting Fever.

And don’t forget, anyone using Pittsburgh Tours and More for a ride or shuttle, individual or group, receives a free admission ticket to the Yarn Tasting. Tickets will be issued on your ride.

Please note: Pittsburgh Tours and More has worked hard to provide guests of the Pittsburgh Knit and Crochet Festival with a reasonably priced alternative to attend the Festival. Taxi fees and/or ride share service is approximately double the shuttle price (round trip) for just one way. All locations with times have now been posted. Please CLICK HERE for shuttle reservations, locations and times. The deadline for making your shuttle or ride reservations is March 23, 2015. Important reminder: Today is the final day to make a hotel reservation to receive the special group rate for the Pittsburgh Knit and Crochet Festival at the Westin Hotel, Downtown Pittsburgh.
