I love dyeing with plants and bugs! I find it such an adventure to unlock the color from each one. For the past 12 years that has been my journey as I have explored indigo, acorns, cochineal bugs, madder root and many more. Right from the beginning I have wanted to blend many colors on one hank of yarn. Even though this presents more of a challenge with natural dyes, I am still amazed at what is possible. Through folding and twisting, and layering, I have made many multicolored beauties. Indigo is especially fun because it doesn’t need cooking and results are instant and permanent. I look forward to more explorations since often my inspirations come from students in my class!
