Quilting, Sewing and Fabric:

We are pleased to be participating in the 1 Million Pillowcase Challenge in the Creative Open Studio. Here are the pattern and instructions we are providing on site for the Pillowcases. Check it out in advance to get familiar with it. There is also a tutorial to watch.

If you are not inclined to sew a pillowcase just sit down and try out a machine. We’ll have lots of fabric available to play with.

Don’t forget, we are collecting your fabrics, notions, yarns and threads for the The Salvation Army Greater Pittsburgh Women’s Auxiliary Fabric Fair.

Sponsor Highlight:

Lion Brand Yarn has been a long time sponsor of the festival and has supported notable yarn bombings from lockers rooms, bicycles, cars, NYC billboards, the 7 Wonders of the Yarn World and our very own Knit the Bridge!

Lion Brand Yarn Company is a fifth generation, family owned business inspiring and educating knitters and crocheters since 1878! They are passionate about helping people enjoy the pleasures of working with yarn. With a variety of yarns, unmatched in the industry, they feature eighty different types of yarns in addition to tools and accessories.  The LB Collection features fine fibers, one of a kind hand dyed yarns and limited edition yarns. They support individual teachers, charities and community events.

Their mission statement: “CREATING A MORE COLORFUL, CONNECTED AND GIVING WORLD” is evidenced with their ongoing support and charitable donations. Through the sales of Vanna’s signature lines of yarn, Vanna and Lion Brand have donated over $1,700,000 to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. We are proud to be associated with Lion Brand Yarns and are grateful for their continued support.
