Anita Hotchkiss
Anita is a fiber artist, teacher and owner of Anita Hotchkiss – Fiber Art Designs. I have been selling and teaching felting and dyeing wool fabric & fiber for over a decade. As a young child my aunt taught me to knit, crochet & embroider. In later years I was introduced to felting, spinning & dyeing fiber. This is where my passion lies! I love teaching 2-D & 3-D needle-felting. Venues where I have taught include; The National NeedleArts Association (TNNA), Kinuza Knit Away, local yarn shops, Northwest PA Spinning & Weaving Guild and my studio. As a speaker, I enjoy sharing my knowledge of wool and felting and have given many discussions & demonstrations at various quilt and fiber guilds. Awards for my work include placing 2nd at Forest Area Arts Council Festival in the Woods and several 1st & 2nd place ribbons for my unique needlefelting and quilt designs at local county fairs. I also received second place in a knitting design contest for Decadent Fibers with “Ribbon Candy Shawl”. A wool applique patterns has been published by Quilt Woman.com and I have self-published many patterns on wool applique. I am certified as a Master Dyer of the Redding Method; a new and dynamic process of dyeing protein fibers.
