Thrumming uses bits of unspun fleece that become a colorwork design on the outside of a piece while simultaneously creating a warm, deliciously soft and fluffy lining on the inside. A fun and functional technique that is great for hats, mittens, slippers, cowls – anything that you want to be warm and cozy. Students will learn the thrum stitch technique that anchors the fleece into the knitted fabric as they go and start a pair of slipper socks. Student should be familiar with gusseted sock construction.
Level: Intermediate (students must be able to knit, purl, cast on and bind off)
Registration necessary, class size limited 24
Supplies Needed: Students will need to bring:
Size 8 double point needles, or 32″ or longer if student wishes to do magic loop method
Materials Fee: (payable to teacher) $35.00 Students will receive a thrum kit consisting of hand dyed yarn and fleece to complete the slippers and pattern
