Class Description:
No more fear of curves! Learn a technique to create curvy shapes and dynamic movement as you stitch this dramatic quilt in class. This design is made up entirely of squares, the curves appear as a result of fabric manupulation. You might be able to do the entire quilt top in class.
Sewing Machines will be provided by PFAFF/Thornton & Co

Level: INTERMEDIATE Students must know how to sew a 1/4″ seam allowance and know how to use rotary cutting equipment
Registration necessary, class size limited 14
Supplies Needed: Students will need to bring:
The Fabric ( Use colors and fabrics that you love) wof is assumed art 41″
- Border and Binding (Black) 2/3 yd
- Background (print on Black – not too busy) 1/3 yd
- Whirligigs (texture and wavy stripes work great) 3 fat eights (one for each whirligig) a fat eight is a piece of fabric approx 9″ x 20″
Other supplies:
- Small sharp scissors
- thread to match your fabrics
- sharp sewing pins
- paper and pencil
- small bottle of Elmer’s glue (white school glue)
- reading glasses if you use them
- and anything else you need to make your sewing enjoyable

Materials Fee: (payable to teacher) $13.00
Homework:
Cut Fabric as follows:
Border fabric: Cut 3 strips 4.5”, then cross cut each into 9 squares
Cut 1 strip 2.5” then cross cut each into 8 squares
Background Fabric: Cut 2 strips 4.5” then cross cut each into 9 squares
Cut 1 strip 2.5” then cross cut into 16 squares
Whirligig fabric: From each fat eighth
Cut 1 strip 4.5” x 20” then cross cut each into 4 squares
Cut 1 strip 2.5” x 20 then cross cut into 4 squares
Fold and press each 2.5” square on a diagonal, right side out, to form a triangle.
