Class Title: New Directions in Shawl Shapes

Class Day/Time: Saturday, 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm
Let’s take shawls beyond the triangle! We will be experimenting with different shawl shapes by knitting several mini shawl swatches. We will also discuss placing lace patterns within these shawl shapes and how to add other common shawl elements, like borders and decorative bind-offs as we take things in new directions.
Level: Technique Requirements: Knit/purl; cast on/bind off; increase/decrease; beginner lace; pattern reading; ability to work from a chart is a plus but not a requirement.
Registration necessary, class size limited to 25
Supplies to Bring:
- 40–50 yards of smooth, light-colored worsted weight yarn
- US 6/4mm or 7/4.5mm knitting needles (straights or circulars are ok; gauge is not critical for swatches)
- Knitting notions (tapestry needle, stitch markers, small scissors, etc.)
- Pen or pencil
