Penny Rugs are the latest trend on Pinterest! It’s origins are noted around the early 1800’s when thrifty homemakers would use pieces of scraps to make designs on rugs, placements. Scraps were taken from old clothing and blankets. It is now a “Folk-Art” and a great re-purposing class! Learn to make a small penny rug suitable to be used as a coaster, ornament, personalized gift tag or small wall hanging. Kit includes a heart and 2 other precut designs. This is a nice method of slow stitching and a great way to begin basic embroidery or to hone your embroidery skills.
