Class Description:

Crochet charts are a visual representation of the crochet pattern using icons.  This is an introductory level class, you are going to use a chart to crochet a simple pattern.   Learn where to start, what the icons show and which stitches to make.  You’ll understand chart basics so you can crochet from any charted pattern, in any language.  By the end of the class, you’ll feel confident reading a chart and ready to pick a charter pattern.

Students should know basic crochet stitches; chain, single crochet and double crochet

Handout and Chartered Pattern will be provided. Bring Yarn and Hook to practice during the class

Supplies Needed:  Students will need to bring:

Bring yarn to practice with during class.  Approximately 1oz/30g 55yds/50m $4 Medium worsted weight, in a single, light color with a smooth texture.

Crochet hook size US I-J, 5.5-6mm

Notions Bag. Pencil and paper to take notes

Materials Fee: (payable to teacher)  None

Homework:  Optional:  Look at charted crochet patterns, bring examples to class to show and discuss.
