Class Description:
A chance to introduce crocheters familiar with the basic crochet stitches to the wonderful world of amigurumi. This is meant to be a very high level introductory session where some basic techniques (such as magic circles and foundation chains) will be demonstrated, but no finished project will be completed. It is a chance for students to ask their questions about amigurumi as well if they have been interested in learning to make stuffies but have been daunted by the plethora of resources available on the internet.
Some topics to be discussed: how to begin, best yarn choices for beginners, yarn over versus yarn under techniques, invisible decrease, best hooks, choosing the right hook size.
Student questions and participation will be strongly encouraged. This would be a 90 minute class. There would be no material fee, but instructor may provide small gift box of favorite tools for each student and each student will get a handout listing instructors favorite pattern designers and shops to pitches some of the materials she uses.

Scrap yarn and hook to practice magic circle and some of the basic techniques.
Materials Fee: (payable to teacher): None
Homework: Come with any questions they may have about amigurumi but were afraid to ask
