Have you tried Kumihimo, the art of Japanese braid making, and want to learn more? This decorative art is a current favorite for making jewelry and a perfect complement to all kinds of fiber arts. In the class you will learn a ridged spiral 12 element braid while making a bracelet you can wear home. Students will have an opportunity to try braiding on a traditional wooden stand as well as working with the modern foam disk. Kumihimo disk and all needed supplies to make additional bracelets will be provided for you in the kit from the teacher.
Level: Prior Experience with Kumihimo
Registration necessary, class size limited 30
Supplies Needed: Students need to bring
Scissors and some fingering or DK weight yarn in 3 of your favorite colors. Teacher will provide yarn in the kit, but you may prefer to bring your favorite colors.
Materials Fee: $15.00 payable to teacher in class, which includes: a Kumihimo disk, counterweight, fingering or DK weight yarn in 3 colors and one 18mm shank button or other bracelet closure,
A 3.00 electronic administrative fee will be added for all online registration transactions.
