Class Description:

This class is for the knitter who has always wanted to learn how to carry yarns in two hands when knitting Colorwork/Fair Isle designs.  This 2 hour class will take the mystery out of this traditional way to  manage your yarns for stranded colorwork knitting.  Holding yarns in two hands also helps keep your yarns from twisting so you will not lose time straightening everything out.  Evening out your tension, as well as catching long floats will also be discussed

 


Level:  BEGINNGER/INTERMEDIATE  basic knitting plus increase/decrease and following basic patterns, yarn overs, cables


Registration necessary, class size limited to 15


Supplies Needed: 

  • 2 colors…one light,  one dark of worsted or DK weight yarn – solid or tonal, no novelty
  • 2-24″ circular needles OR 1-32″ circular needle OR 1-16″ circular needle OR 1 set of doubled pointed needles in appropriate size for yarn selected

Materials Fee: None


Homework:  Cast on 80 stitches with the lighter color yarn.  Join to knit in the round.  Place a marker to indicate start of the round.  Knit 3 rounds
