Class Description:
In this introduction to Fair Isle knitting, you’ll learn the techniques needed to knit and design your own stranded colorwork! Starting with the simplest of peeries and working our way up to charting and transitions, you’ll leave class with the start of a hat, a collection of charts and all the yarn you’ll need to finish it in as many colors as you dare. We’ll also cover tension tricks and pairing colors, and you can also try your hand at corrugated ribbing if you want to learn how to incorporate purling into your color changes.
Level: Intermediate, knowledge of both English style (picking) and Continental style (throwing) is helpful.
Registration necessary, class size limited
Supplies Needed:
Us Size 5 circular needle, 16-24” length
Materials Fee: $10.00 for pattern and about 100-150 grams of yarn to complete your hat, payable to instructor in class.
Homework: None
A 3.00 electronic administrative fee will be added for all online registration transactions.
