Shave ‘Em to Save ‘Em
Shave ‘Em to Save ‘Em with Amy Ross Manko from Ross Farm
Saturday Evening at 7:30 pm
Have you heard of the Shave ‘Em to Save ‘Em project but aren’t quite sure what it’s all about? Are you curious about what Rare Breeds are and why they’re in need of your support? Are you tired of the same old, same old Merino and ready to go out of the box and experience critically endangered sheep breeds brought to this country by our ancestors from around the world? Then join Amy Ross Manko of The Ross Farm on Saturday night at 7:30 during our Block Party for her talk on raising rare breed sheep, working with the Livestock Conservancy’s innovative new project and ask her all your questions about spinning and knitting outside of the box. The talk is FREE, but if you’d like to donate to the preservation efforts, you may do so.
Amy Ross Manko travels the country (and now the world) teaching, researching and writing about her favorite topic – Rare Breed Sheep! When she’s not on the road, spreading the gospel of critically endangered livestock, she’s at home on her historic farm raising 11 breeds of heritage and rare breed sheep, as well as cattle, draft horses, mini-donkeys and poultry. She is the owner of Ross Farm Fibers Inc and provides love and shelter to homeless fiber equipment in her ballroom-turned-fiber-studio atop her new bed and breakfast, The Shepherd’s Inn near her home in Eighty-Four, PA.
An admission ticket must be purchased to attend any classes or special events.
