Crocheted Wire Beaded Necklace

with Elaine Smith

Friday PM, Saturday PM,  & Sunday AM

Explore your creativity and make a necklace that you will truly enjoy. This class is a very beginner crochet class. The only stitch you are using is a chain stitch and
moving the beads on the wire. The clasps are self made with the wire. No other findings are needed.  If you have any wire cutters and needle nose pliers please bring them but don’t  buy them just for the class as Elaine will have extras for you to use.

You will need:  30 yards of 24 gauge wire and jewelry beads (not seed beads) you will need 35 beads for each strand. We are doing a 3 strand necklace, so a total of 105 beads are needed. I do 35 of 3 different beads. They can be different sizes. Try to stay with small to medium size beads as they large take up too much room. If you want to put seed beads on 1 strand you will need at least 90 beads for the one strand. The beads can be all different colors but I try to stay with colors that look good together. Plan to bring extra in case the holes aren’t open also. A METAL size J crochet hook.

If you prefer not to bring materials, Elaine will have an assortment of kits, for $20.00, payable to her in class, (the kit does not include crochet hook).
