I love projects that are ambitious, messy, and imaginative…bonus points if good music is involved, too! Although my main interest in art is based in blacksmithing and metalsmithing, I have taught a wide variety of art classes for all ages and abilities. As the director of the Confluence Creative Arts Center, I am passionate about both art and art education. I have taught art classes for children at the Augusta Heritage Center and Touchstone Center for Crafts in Farmington, PA. I’ve had a public blacksmithing studio at Spruce Forest Artisan Village in Grantsville, Maryland, and I currently teach blacksmithing classes at Touchstone. I am involved in instruction, mentoring, and public art projects in our community.
My house isn’t particularly clean, my garden boasts lots of flowers, vegetables, and weeds, and if I had an M& M for every paintbrush, ball of yarn, button, bead, or book I owned, I’d be one happy chocoholic. We’re a homeschooling family, and I have two daughters who love all sorts of projects and a husband who plays a mean banjo and cooks really great barbeque chicken. All good stuff!
