Teacher Name: Karen Womack
Class Length: 2 hours
Class Fee: $35.00
Class Day/Time: Sunday, 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm
Shashiko and Japanese Boro are trending. Stitching quilt blocks by hand is making a comeback. It allows you to relax and stitch during down time: kids practice, medical appointments, vacation trips, or on your daily commute to work.
Learn the basic running stitch while making a 4 patch quilt block. Join Karen as she shows you hand piecing, big stitch utility, quilting, Shashiko and Japanese Boro. We will also discuss other blocks that are more suited for hand piecing such as diamonds and curves. Bring your beverage of choice with a lid, sit and stitch in a relaxed setting.
All students in this class will be invited to participate in a little show and tell of their own.
Students will also receive a ticket for the end of the day prizes and materials. All remaining materials that were used in the Creative Open Studio, in the Maker Space and any remaining prizes will be set out on a table in the classroom and participants will select a “bundle” to take home. A great way to end the weekend!
