Class Title: The Grand Finale:Finishing Techniques for your Knitting Projects

Class Fee:  $40.00

Class Day/Time:  Saturday, 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm

Class Description: In this class, we will focus on the various techniques needed to finish your knitting projects. Everything from bind off techniques to seaming and blocking will be covered.  This final step is very important when we want our knitting to look well done.  We will cover these skills:

-Kitchener Stitch

-Mattress Stitch with different stitch patterns

-Knitting on an edging

-Weaving in Ends

-Three-needle bind-off

-Stretchy bind-off for tops of socks and cuffs of sleeves

-Blocking garments

-Blocking shawls

-Blocking felted items

-Blocking different fiber contents

Level: All levels

Registration necessary, class size limited to 25

Supplies Needed: Bring a project that you are working on finishing, if desired.  You will need a strong yarn, plied, for seaming, a tapestry needle, scissors.  You will also need to bring the swatches assigned in  “homework” along with corresponding knitting needles in both circular or straight and double pointed.

Materials Fee: $5.00, payable to instructor in class

Homework: Please knit the following swatches, at least 4 by 4 inches.  Do not bind off any of the swatches.  Place all on stitch holders, please. :

-Garter Stitch

-Stockinette Stitch

-Ribbing of choice

-Stitch of your choice

A 3.00 electronic administrative fee will be added for all online registration transactions.

An Admission ticket must be purchased to attend all classes
