If you’re an avid crocheter, you probably have small bits of yarn left over from your many projects. Not quite enough for another project, but you hate to throw them out. But what to do with them? Then, this class is for you! Students will learn how to make the very simple Granny’s Daughter motif, which requires about 2 feet of left over worsted weight yarn, and how to connect them in a manner that feels more like crocheting than joining squares! If your least favorite part of crocheting blocks is joining them, you’ll love this technique! The Granny’s Daughter works up quickly and is very portable. It can be made while waiting in the doctor’s office, at halftime at your child’s game, while a passenger in the car, waiting to board a plane at the airport, or wherever you have a few free moments. In the class, we will make 10 or 12 of the motifs, join them together in 2 rows and then join the two rows together. Once these basics are learned, you can go on to make your scrap yarn into scarves, shawls, baby blankets, lap afghans or full size afghans. This is also a great project if you are a member of a group that crochets for charity. Open to all levels, basic crochet skills needed.
