Twined knitting is a traditional Scandinavian knitting technique dating back at least to the 17th century in Sweden. The fabric that results from this technique is thicker, warmer and more resilient, due to the two yarns which twine around each other as the piece is worked. Decorative stitches can also be made with this technique.
Students will work in the round to make a wrist warmer. You will learn the traditional cast-on, twined knitting, twined purling, and patterning with the ‘O” stitch, and the Crook stitch.
