Class Title: Crochet Wire and Bead Necklace
Teacher: Kitty Savel
Class Day/Time: Friday, 12:30 to 3:30 pm
Class Length: 3 hours
Class Fee: $30.00
In this class we will create a braided necklace using crochet, wire and beads. The student will crochet three strands of crochet chain and beads incorporated into their work. We will braid the three strands to create a striking end result. We will use a lobster clasp with jump rings to finish off the necklace. Any size bead can be used but the instructor recommends 6mm or 8mm beads. We will work with 28 gauge artistic wire and a size 8/H steel crochet hook. Wood and plastic crochet hooks are not appropriate when working with wire. Students will learn how to work and crochet with the wire. By the end of the class the student will walk away with a one of a kind, stunning necklace. This class is open to all levels, however, students should be able to do crochet chain stitch and three strand braiding. Good manual dexterity is needed for this class. Students with severe arthritic hands may find this class too challenging.
