Taking a brief break

View online | Subscribe | Visit us online | Archives

Plans are in progress for the 13th Annual Festival.  We are currently working on a great line up of teachers and exhibitors.

We will be taking a short break from newsletters and Sweepstakes giveaways.  Barb was recently diagnosed with Trigeminal Neuralgia and will be having surgery next week. She plans to take a few weeks off to recover and heal. After that time we will resume our work to bring you updates on new product and book reviews.  We typically make plans to attend TNNA (The National Needlearts Association) summer show, but we have asked our sponsors to send us their new products to review since the show will be held during Barb’s recovery time. Look forward to sharing what’s new with you next month!

Save the dates for 2017 – March 24, 25, 26th!  Congratulations to our sweepstakes winners from last month’s newsletter listed below.

With Warm Regards,

Ann

Pictured here is Sandra Schott’s X’s and O’s quilt. Sandra helped us out at the Festival this year. Her work is outstanding and her attention to detail is obvious. Maybe she’ll teach a class or two for us next year.

Supporting Our Community

We are pleased each year to support the Salvation Army Fabric Fair with your generous contribution of fabrics, notions, yarns and crafting supplies. Remember to bring your donations to the festival this year, they are greatly appreciated. This year we are pleased to support another organization. The Charity lounge will feature both Warm Up America donations and projects, as well as instructions for the Red Heart/Red Cross blankets. Red Heart has teamed up with the Red Cross to provide blankets for those in need and will be sending materials, supplies and instructions for the knitted and crocheted blankets. These can be started on site in the Charity Lounge and continued at home or with your group or guild as a team effort.

So if you are not taking classes and have some free time at the Festival, we hope you can join us in the Charity Lounge.

In the Creative Open Studio, the extra creative blocks made will be donated to Annie Stunden’s sewing group to make quilts for the East End Cooperative Ministry.

Have you been bitten by the coloring craze? While in California at the Mega Craft and Hobby Association trade show, I was amazed by the numerous coloring books, panels and activities that allow us some playtime and great stress relief. We are thrilled to include a “Coloring Lounge” at the Festival this year. We will have coloring pages, pencils, markers and gel pens for you to play with, graciously provided by Leisure Arts.
